Themes are often wonderful ways to centralize ideas for gifts, décor, etc. For example, if the shower is for the bride only, then a lingerie-themed shower would be appropriate. Or, if the shower is for the couple, other considerations could be made. For example, if the couple is planning to wed at a destination an island or tropical theme might be nice. A white party. This theme is geared toward linens and toiletries for the couple. Guests could even be instructed to wear white and this shower could take place outdoors on a nicely groomed lawn. Appropriate gifts would fall under this theme.
Gift Certificates. This is a popular theme for couples who haven’t registered for many things or prefer to purchase the majority of their gifts themselves. Guests select gift certificates to the couple’s favorite places and allow the couples to treat themselves. Some popular gift certificates that fall under this theme: Massage for two at a spa, Dinner out on the town, Clothing certificates, etc.
Also, this theme can be expanded to include those on a low budget. Guests can customize their gifts to offer things that the couple could use but are inexpensive. Examples of this could be a weekend of house-sitting, helping the couple move, assisting with home decorating, etc.
Sporty If the couple is physically active and/or into sports, this kind of theme would be something sure to please. Gift ideas for this theme could include tickets to their favorite team’s game, athletic equipment and gear, etc. Décor for the shower could also center around their favorite sporting team’s colors and mascot. And if they have different favorites, this theme could depict the mascots dueling. The possibilities are endless.
Endless Love This theme is centered around successful couples whether they be celebrities or people the couple knows. They could be funny couples such as “Bert and Ernie” from Sesame Street, Cliff and Clair Huxtable from the Cosby Show, etc. Obtain pictures of long-time couples and place them around the room where the shower is being held. The guests and couple would be surrounded by examples of long lasting-love or companionship that will serve as inspiration for their own union. Gifts could be general since the theme is expansive.
