Here are a few questions to ask your photographer before you book. These can help you to figure out if this particular photographer is the right one for you.

  • How early do you come to the wedding?

  • Do you take pictures of pre-ceremony activities such as Bride and Groom preparation?

  • How many pictures on average do you take per wedding?

  • Can I get my negatives (analog or on CD/DVD)?

  • How much do my negatives cost?

  • Do you come with an assistant or another photographer?

  • What do you typically wear on assignment?

  • Does your company solicit from my guests?

  • Do you have backup equipment, if so what types? (cameras, lights, lenses, etc)

  • Do you shoot digital or film (analog)?

  • What resolution does your digital camera shoot? (6.2 Megapixels, 8.2 Megapixels, etc)

  • Do you shoot black and white? If you are digital, can I get any image in Black and White?

  • How far do you travel without occurring extra costs?

  • Have you shot at my location before?

  • Do you come out early to check out a location?

  • How early do I need to schedule my engagements/bridal pictures?

  • What are your prices per print?

  • Do I get an album with the package?

  • What types of albums do you have?

  • Do you design your own digital albums?

  • How long will it take to get my images back after the wedding?

  • Can family / friends order images online?

  • Can I submit images that I want you to take?

  • What are your payment options?

  • How long do you stay at my wedding/reception? Can I pay on spot, if I want you to stay longer?

  • Do you travel out of town?

  • Who is going to shoot my wedding, you or somebody else?
