A Touch of Class: Making Great Style Choices for Your Wedding

Bridal Edition : 8/28/2007

Everyone has a style all their own. On your wedding day, you certainly want to showcase yours. You might be trendy and up-to-date or you might be one who has a more traditional style. Whatever the case, remember that trends come and go, but memories of your wedding last forever. Here are some tips for making wise style choices for your special day:

First make sure that whatever you have planned will not only represent you well now, but ten or twenty years from now. For example, if your favorite colors are pink and orange, it may be okay to use a nice shade of those colors in your wedding, but a loud pink and orange may not complement each other as well as a soft pink and a gold will. If nothing else, use your flower arrangements to blend colors that could possibly contrast one another. You can have many different colors, but they seem to work together in one nice bouquet.

Second, choose your favors wisely. Anything that you are doing yourself or having a friend to do, make sure that person is able to do the work and has the necessary tools to produce a good product. For example, don't put a picture of yourself on your program that ends up squished because you only have access to a word processor program versus an imaging and design program.

Third, think of your décor like you would design a million dollar mansion. And if you need inspiration, look for magazines that have to do with interior design or simply look at pictures of beautiful rooms and places. Also remember a wedding is not a birthday party or a sweet sixteen, so confetti and balloons should be kept to a minimum.

The key to having a wonderfully styled wedding is to plan well. It also wouldn't hurt to consult with other fashionable friends who can offer insight. After all, your wedding is a reflection of your style. Make sure that it reflects nothing but the best!
